§ 8¾-2. Court costs.

  • (a)

    Any defendant convicted in the county court of Nassau County, Florida, for violation of a state penal or criminal statute or convicted for violation of a municipal or county ordinance, shall have collected from him the amount of four dollars ($4.00) as court costs imposed by the county judge or collected by the county clerk.

    (b)

    In addition to the assessment set forth in section 1 [subsection (a)] above, there shall be assessed and collected the sum of four dollars ($4.00) as a court cost from every bond estreature or forfeited bail bond related to such penal or criminal statute or ordinance referred to in section 1 [subsection (a)] above.

    (c)

    Of the four dollars ($4.00) collected in sections 1 and 2 [subsections (a) and (b)] above, two dollars ($2.00) shall be forwarded to the state treasurer as provided by Section 943.25(4)(a), Florida Statutes, as amended; and two dollars ($2.00) shall be transferred to a special fund of the County of Nassau for law enforcement education expenditures for its law enforcement officers as provided by Section 943.25(8)(a)(5), Florida Statutes, as amended, and this ordinance [section].
